This is a very important message to you that IBO2009 Registration Secretariat is soundly asking you for filling in the registration forms as much as possible.
Now we only have less than 50 days to the competition. It is the time that you and IBO2009 Registration Secretariat must work together hands in hands to complete the registration process. We need your careful attention to this message.
Those non-exempt visa countries who have been waiting for passport and flight information, please keep it in mind that later confirming your country's data, less chances of obtaining visa in time.We would truly avoid miserable results.
Please super hurry to obtain those information and enter it to the registration forms.

A PR event for IBO2009 Tsukuba entitled "IBO is coming to Tsukuba" was held at the "TX Technology Showcase in Tsukuba 2008". It took place on the 25th (Fri) and 26th (Sat) of Jan at the Tsukuba Head Office of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).

A PR event for IBO2009 Tsukuba was held at the "Tsukuba Science Festival 2007" at Tsukuba CAPIO.The festival aims to increase the interest of young people in science and technology. In the festival, the IBO2009 Executive Committee presented a booth exhibition.

Presentation was made for PR of IBO2009 Tsukuba at the "Introductory Event of the Science and Technology Contest", a joint event of the National Convention of Youngsters' Science Festival 2008. It took place on July 25th (Fri) - July 27th (Sun) at The Science Museum.

The 20th International Biology Olympiad Organizing Committee, The University of Tsukuba and The Japan Science Foundation held 'Tsukuba Biology Research Contest' on May 24th, 2008 at the University of Tsukuba. 166 middle and high school students put in poster presentations.
Two posters, "The effect of woods combination to motion - applied pine cone motion-" by Sano-Nihondaigaku high school and "The mycorrhiza morphology of Monotropa unifloraquercus and the space distribution of carpophore of fungi into Quercus myrsinaefolia forest" by Mito-daiichi high school won the gold prize out of 28 entries.

On Dec 1st 2007, The 20th International Biology Olympiad Organizing Committee was notified of the inauguration of His Imperial Highness Akishinonomiya as the Honorary President of the IBO2009 Tsukuba.

The inaugural meeting of The 20th International Biology Olympiad Organizing Committee was held at the Science Museum (Chiyoda, Tokyo). Dr. IMURA, Hiroo, Professor emeritus of the Kyoto University, was designated as chairperson.

The Japanese Biology Olympiad Committee officially agreed to host the 20th IBO in Tsukuba Science City, Japan in 2009.
